Dot NAME Domains
Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain extension is the sole TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are popular by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to obtain john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Existing 3rd-level names remained operational.
Through our firm, you can register your dot NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to switch the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no particular stipulations on who can reserve a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
The .NAME domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the correct spelling in your native language.
